Nokia 3.1 comes with 5.2-inch display and runs Android 8.1 Oreo. It is powered by an octa-core MediaTek MT6750Soc and sports a 13MP rear camera with 8MP front shooter. Its battery capacity is 2990mAh. It is paired with 3GB RAM and has 32GB storage. The phone was priced at Rs 11,999 when launched and it is not the first time Nokia has cut price of their 3.1, earlier they cut its price by Rs 1,000 and now again it is cut by Rs 2,000. Now the phone is available at Rs 8,999. Whereas Nokia 6.1 houses Snapdragon 630SoC with Adreno 508 GPU, and has a 5.5-inch Full HD display, it comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB for the base version. Its battery capacity is 3000 mAh. It has a 16MP rear camera and 8MP front camera. When launched it came with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box but recently it started receiving the Android 9.0 Pie update. After the price cut of Rs 1500 the Nokia 6.1 3GB + 32GB variant will be retailing for Rs 11,999. And the top-spec model of 6.1 which is the 4GB + 64GB will be retailing at Rs 13,999.

Nokia’s price cut has put it directly in competition with Redmi phones which are aggressively priced between Rs 8,000 to Rs 15,000. And not just Mi, there are other brands recognising the entry level smartphone market’s capabilities. And now many phone makers are pushing out their phones in the same price segment. Manufacturers like Asus, Realme, Mi, Oppo, Vivo have multitude of phone in the same price range.
