The Weibo post reads “New week, New life, New …𝟬𝟯.𝟭𝟴 𝟭𝟮:𝟭𝟳” Initially it was being guessed that on March 18 the company will be unveiling its upcoming OnePlus 8 series but sadly that proved to be a wrong guess. Soon after the post the company’s CEO, Pete Lau in his post on the OnePlus community forums announced that soon the OnePlus brand image will switch to a new identity on March 18. His post reads, “We’ve come a long way from our early days, with a team of a few dozen employees that went above and beyond to make sure every OnePlus One order reached its buyer. Several years later, our team has grown across multiple offices, time zones and languages. We’ve become an important player in the tech industry, always focused on delivering the best smartphone experience for our users. Our passion is stronger than ever, and we have experienced some amazing success along the way, but sometimes it’s good to shake things up a bit. So, before you find out from anyone else, I wanted to let you know first that two days from now, we’re refreshing our brand visual identity (VI).” He also shared that this development has been shared with the general public and the community members on the same day as it was being shared internally. He mentioned that they consider the community as part of their family so they decided to share the information about the change to its members first even before the public announcement. On March 18, 2020, the company will make the new brand visual identity public. The company will also update about what’s changing and what will remain unchanged on its forum tomorrow. However, the CEO did not mention if this change will be revealed through an online event due to the Coronavirus pandemic situation globally. Also according to a report by a Chinese publication IThome claims that the new OnePlus logo has been spotted at the National Trademark Office. According to the leak, the company will adopt a black and white logo which will be similar to the previous one. The only change which has been made is the colour which has been transformed from red to black. “At the same time, the new design has also been added under the original OnePlus logo “ONEPLUS”.” the report mentioned.
